Community Cinema at Roystonhill Community Hub

Thanks to a funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust, Roystonhill Community Hub is celebrating £6,414.00 that will for towards Skylight blinds allowing for a community cinema and wider range of activities. 

The Hub on the Hill is operated by Spire View Housing Association and officially opened in 2019. It provides a wide range of support services, from working with GEMAP and the Simon Community, as well as a variety of activities for the local community, like Kickboxing, Dance classes and the Young at heart Club. 

Alan Brown, Chairperson of Spire View Housing Association said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this funding. We are very grateful to Suez Communities Trust for their support.” 

The new community cinema will allow for a number of new activities to happen at The Hub on the Hill, Arlene Cooke, Project Manager of North Glasgow healthy Living Community commented: “It’s fantastic news that Spire View has been awarded funding for the installation of skylight blinds. Our organisation will not be able to increase support for delivery of year-round accessible programmes such as our community-led Family Meal & Movie Events.” 

 SUEZ Communities Trust is an independent funding body set up in 1997 to provide funding through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund, they provide funds that improve public recreation facilities such as village halls, community centres and green spaces.
