Spire View Housing Association has been successful in gaining a ten year extension on the exemption of right to buy. This means that you will not have the right to buy your home until 30th September 2022 at the earliest.  It also means that we can continue to provide good quality, affordable housing to those most in need.

This extension does not apply to the following:

  • those with preserved right to buy
  • certain properties in Roystonhill and Tharsis Street (however, cost floor rules apply until 2015)
  • new tenants from 1 March 2011 who will never have the right to buy
  • two recently acquired shared ownership flats at Bright Street
