Spire View’s Community Garden was officially opened on 16 May 2009. The garden came about as a result of the Spire4U project in the latter part of 2007. We ran a project where local schools and tenants became involved in developing the spare land between 101 and 99 James Nisbet Street. The end result of the project was the Community Garden. This is a picturesque, landscaped space with a seating area and a basketball shooting area. This is a haven in a busy area and will allow the community to come together. 
The Deputy Lord Provost of Glasgow and other special guests officiated at an opening ceremony as part of a community clean up day on 16 May 2009 and we hope that tenants, current and future, will be able to enjoy this space for many years to come.
